Tile is the most permanent floor you can put in a home, and also the easiest one to install badly. A great tile job comes down mostly to subfloor prep, mortar coverage, and layout, not the tile itself. Elite Northwest Flooring uses manufacturer-certified tile setters and uncoupling membranes on every wet-area install, and every job is backed by our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty, so it's built to outlast the house around it.

We start with a full subfloor inspection, catching any deflection, moisture, or unevenness before a single tile gets set. We use modified thinset mortars rated for the tile size, back-butter large-format tile for full coverage, and use leveling clips to eliminate lippage on planks and large rectangles. Showers get a full waterproofing system with a properly sloped mortar bed.

Tile flooring pricing in the Greater Seattle Area
Pricing includes tile, thinset, grout, professional installation, and disposal of old flooring. Waterproofing membrane and floor leveling priced separately when required.

Tile Flooring - frequently asked questions
Most rooms take 2 to 3 days: demo and prep on day one, setting tile on day two, grouting and sealing on day three. Showers and large-format installs can add another day or two.
On plywood subfloors and any heated floor, yes, it prevents cracked tile and grout from substrate movement. On concrete slabs it's optional, though we still recommend it in wet areas.
Sometimes, if the existing tile is solidly bonded, level, and won't cause a door clearance problem. Otherwise we remove the old tile first and start with a flat subfloor.
Standard cement grout will eventually stain if it isn't sealed. We seal every grout job on install day, and we offer stain-proof epoxy grout as an upgrade for kitchens and showers.
