Elite Northwest Flooring has installed hardwood throughout the Greater Seattle Area since we opened our doors in Mukilteo in 2023. We supply and install solid hardwood, engineered hardwood, and custom parquet from Lauzon, Mirage, Mercier, Bruce, Kahrs, Coswick, Shaw, Armstrong, and more.
Because we buy directly from the mills and run our own installation crews, employees, not subcontractors, you get manufacturer pricing and one point of accountability from measurement to final coat.
Solid or engineered, what fits a Pacific Northwest home
Both are real wood. Which one makes sense for your house comes down to your subfloor and how much moisture it's exposed to, a bigger factor here than in drier climates.

Red and white oak make up most of our installations, durable, take stain beautifully, and age gracefully. Maple offers a cleaner, more uniform grain. Hickory is the hardest domestic wood and holds up well in active households. Walnut and cherry bring richer, darker tones for more formal rooms.
Stains range from natural blonde and whitewashed to grey, fumed, and dark espresso. We bring sample boards to your home so you can see the actual stain on the actual wood under Pacific Northwest light, not a print in a catalog.
Installation, subfloor leveling, and refinishing
We install nail-down, glue-down, and floating hardwood depending on what your subfloor allows, and every job includes moisture testing and proper subfloor leveling, something our clients consistently call out in their Google reviews, since a lot of older homes in this area have settled floors that need correcting before new wood goes down. Hardwood Flooring - frequently asked questions
Most whole-home installs take 2 to 4 days. Refinishing existing hardwood adds another 3 to 5 days for sanding, staining, and finishing.
Engineered hardwood works well in kitchens and below-grade basements, the plywood core stays stable when humidity shifts, which matters in a climate like ours. We don't recommend solid hardwood in either spot.
A quality solid hardwood floor can last 80-100 years and be refinished 5-7 times along the way. Engineered hardwood typically lasts 30-50 years and can be refinished once or twice.
We bring sample boards in your species and color so we can match within a shade or two. For a perfect blend, we can refinish your existing hardwood at the same time, so schedule both at once with a free estimate.
